Duties/Responsibilities:
  • The Director of Engagement serves as the "front door" point of contact for the Purdue Research Foundation in the Silicon Valley, California area, building contacts with business and industry organizations, government agencies, and community leaders to promote the workforce development, business and economic development, technical assistance, and application research outreach programs offered by Purdue University. 
  • The Director is a broker of Purdue outreach and engagement activities between California constituents and Purdue University and will enhance the visibility of Purdue University and the interaction with the venture capital community. 
  • The Director will represent Purdue at professional meetings, community activities, and organizational committee meetings. 


Requirements/Qualifications:
  •  B.S. in business, finance or related discipline required with 10 or more years of relevant experience. 
  • Advanced degree preferred. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Purdue University and its programs and offerings highly desirable. 
  • The successful candidate will rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. 
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to communicate effectively with internal staff/external customers required. 
  • Strong organizational/prioritization skills, ability to deal effectively with change and strong decision making and problem solving skills are a must.
